Midnight ‘Mamak’ Supper, That’s What Malaysians Do
12.10am, and I got invited to supper by my younger brother and his wife. No, I don’t usually eat supper. But since I am home and did not manage to catch up with them on my last trip, why not?
Let’s go the mamak (stall) …. food is cheap, and you can even walk in with your pyjamas (I changed to t-shirt and short lah).
We ordered Malaysia’s ‘national’ drink, teh tarik (literally, pulled tea), is made by tossing tea with condensed milk.
Nasi lemak for me, rice cooked in coconut milk with sambal, chili paste. Also our national dish. My brother ordered a piece of fried chicken to go with his maggi goreng (fried instant noodle).
We left around 1.30am and it was still packed.
2.30am, please let me sleep after my teh tarik.
Good night, Malaysia.
Famous mamak stall at that area, yummy maggi goreng and fried chicken. : ) Get fat for good reason, yummy food.
