A Life Between Two Countries, And All In Between

Malaysia

YOLO At Every Sundae

Every Sundae is conveniently located few doors away from Restoran Yook Tho Yin, where I had family dinner few weeks ago. Looking for a dessert place-post dinner, their location was the only reason why we went there.

Every Sundae

I have never heard of this place before; I wasn’t overly excited:

  1. Every Sundae sounds cheezy to me
  2. Their menu screamed fancy to me …

Well ..  I ended up sharing a dessert with Wil, my nephew. YOLO was his choice. You only live once, an acronym / slang word I didn’t know until quite late.

Thai coconut and salted egg yolk flavor + curry leaf eggette base + salted egg lava topping = YOLO.

This outing was before my horrible salted egg yolk croissant doughnut at Dotty’s TTDI, otherwise I would have freak out. Gggrrrrrr …

One of their staff is the chatty-type … As I was curious of their creative flavor, he let me try their ‘to fo fa’ (soya bean curd) flavor. He also told me that they have more than 200 types of flavor, and these flavors are on daily rotation. He added that nasi lemak is their most famous flavor! What?!

Hearing about nasi lemak gelato flavor, my SIL told me that she heard about it from her friend. Her friend said that it tastes ‘weird’, and it’s not something that she’ll order again.

I looked up the place thereafter. Every Sundae is a soft gelato bar by Cielo Dolci. They are well-known for their innovative gelatos!

I will be back for their nasi lemak gelato, anyone?!

Not Your Typical Tourist

A passionate advocate for independent and solo travel, I traded life in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for the vibrant streets of Bangkok, Thailand. This shift is all thanks to a "chance encounter" in 2009 that led to marriage with my Thai husband. I currently split my time between Bangkok (my main base) and Kuala Lumpur for family—documenting the unique blend of a Malaysian life lived abroad.
