Claypot Chicken Rice

Claypot chicken rice’s cravings satisfied

Finally, I had my claypot chicken rice‘s cravings satisfied at Kedai Makanan Kim Poh at Segambut. This place is owned by the family of an old high school friend of mine. Today, her parents run the show, as her brother who usually handles the cooking task is sick.

Their foreign helper rattled off their soup choices, but had to repeat it few times as we had trouble understanding her pronounciation. Sorry, ya kakak.

Total damage: RM 27.50 for claypot chicken rice for 2 pax, two bowls of steamed soups and one glass of hot chinese tea.

A passionate advocate for independent and solo travel, I traded life in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for the vibrant streets of Bangkok, Thailand. This shift is all thanks to a "chance encounter" in 2009 that led to marriage with my Thai husband. I currently split my time between Bangkok (my main base) and Kuala Lumpur for family—documenting the unique blend of a Malaysian life lived abroad.
