Story Coffee at Samrong: A Green Oasis Discovery

What a delightful discovery! We found a genuine oasis right here in Samrong—Story Coffee—a place that offers unexpected tranquility and a perfect spot for a relaxing break in a neighborhood that truly needs it.

The environment is filled with lush greeneries and a beautifully well-tended garden, complete with edibles, decorative plants, and two koi fish ponds. The fish seemed quite hungry when we visited (fish food is available for a quick 10 baht purchase at the counter!). We opted to sit outdoors despite the afternoon heat to enjoy the fresh air among the greenery.

Our Americano was decent, albeit on the pricier side (89 baht) for the location. However, I had absolutely no issue paying for the exquisite ambiance. A huge bonus was their banana muffin, which was a buy-one-get-one-free offer—a delicious treat. They pride themselves on using 100% authentic Doi Chang coffee beans, grown in high altitudes and favorable climates.

A Note on the Food Menu

We’ve seen mixed reviews regarding the food quality and pricing on platforms like Wongnai and Google. While we opted to stick to the coffee and baked goods, we felt it was a pity if the food wasn’t commensurate with the price. Our constructive suggestion? Keep the menu concise—perhaps just a few items—and execute those dishes perfectly so customers are eager to return for more than just the atmosphere. For now, I’d probably stick to the excellent drinks and treats.

Service and Practical Details

Service-wise, we were treated well—it certainly helped that I could speak Thai. The staff was friendly, pointing us to the QR code menu and generously providing information about the Loy Krathong celebration at Wat Dan Samrong. No issues whatsoever, and the WiFi password is conveniently posted on the wall.

Parking is available right in front of the cafe.

Do support them to keep this business alive! If they take the food feedback onboard, this will easily be the hidden gem this neighborhood has been waiting for.

Not Your Typical Tourist

A passionate advocate for independent and solo travel, I traded life in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for the vibrant streets of Bangkok, Thailand. This shift is all thanks to a "chance encounter" in 2009 that led to marriage with my Thai husband. I currently split my time between Bangkok (my main base) and Kuala Lumpur for family—documenting the unique blend of a Malaysian life lived abroad.

  • Hello! I too love these cakes!
I was not able to find any at any 7-11 except for the 7-11 at BKK airport! I bought it 3 packages with 10 each! (There was 4 packs but I didn’t want to be too greedy 5555)
