A collection of oddities at Papaya Vintage Shop
Odd Thomas. Dean Koontz. That’s exactly what Papaya Vintage Shop reminded me of. The shop could even be the film location of a dark, twisted, mysterious kind of movie. Intrigued yet? Papaya Vintage Shop is a 31-year old vintage shop at Lat Phrao, with a mix of things: from furniture, to clocks, ‘creepy’ dolls (cue: Annabelle) etc.
Bringing my sis’ family here made an interesting break from the daily mundane of Bangkok-tourist life. My brother-in-law who is into vintage things was drawn to few furniture pieces. He was told that their stuffs are a mix of local Thai and imported from Europe.
To get to Papaya Vintage Shop, MRT Lat Phrao is the closest subway station, and it’s around 3.2 km away (39 mins walk). So, do continue via taxi (around 8 minutes away) or public bus.
If you drive, there is a parking fee of 10 baht.
They are open everyday from 09:00AM-07:00PM.
If you see anything you like, take pictures of it, or risk not finding your way back.
Now let’s the pictures do the talking …
