A Life Between Two Countries, And All In Between

Celebrating An Environment-Friendly Loy Krathong

Four years in and out of Bangkok.

Two years living in Bangkok.

Two years of celebration of Loy Krathong.

Hello pretty Krathong
Hello pretty Krathong

And I finally got my first Krathong.

Float away his krathong
Floating away his krathong
Loy, loy krathong …

Traditionally, Thais release their krathongs into rivers and canals. But modern days see anything-water is fine .. D brought me to Lumpini Park  and also Chao Phraya river the last time. I was horrified with the amount of pollution then (and now still).

This year, we stopped by at Chatuchak Park, and I got a simple krathong at 30 baht. The elaborate krathongs can be as expensive as a hundred bath.

A basin is okay for my krathong too

Yipee! A private krathong pool

As I refused to contribute to the pollution, I float mine at .. unconventional water-spots.

Happy Loy Krathong!

Happy Loy Krathong everyone … may all unhappiness, sorrow, anger, grudges, dissappointment float away to far, far away … down the plumbing pipes, perhaps.

Not Your Typical Tourist

Travel opens up a whole new world, which is cliche but true. I am a strong advocate for independent and solo travel. I was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia but now live in Bangkok, Thailand, resulted from a chance encounter in 2009 with my why-are-you-Thai bf. I am now split between two countries. One country for my bf, another for the family, for the occasional weekend together.
