Frostylicious Beer At Pathé

Throwback to my last night in Bangkok, at Pathé Antique and Restaurant (ปาเต๊ะ), at Lat Phrao.

Ice, ice baby

I suggested Pathé for frosty beer, i.e. beer served in frozen mug, which bf obliged (despite knowing that there will be insane crowd that night).

Frosty Singha beer (130 baht)

Not a beer drinker myself. Beer in frozen mug, the one and only way of drinking beer that I like. Why so? Because it masks the flavor of the beer, and it makes the beer taste bland! The beer mug is usually changed frequently too!

The beer goes very well with their complimentary peanuts, mixed with salt and chili.

Full house inside and outside at pedestrian walkway

But our visit coincided with Friday, plus salary payday. Avoid like the plague, folks! Unless if you arrive early 6pm+.

Makeshift garden area to cater to the insane crowd

Around 8pm, we were seated at makeshift-garden area. Waited for around 1 hour for our food to arrive.

Our order:

Beef salad Japanese style

Beef salad Japanese style
(180 baht) – ordered the wrong salad. Their spicy salad with beef was what we ordered previously, and it tastes so much better.

Pathé is extremely popular amongst local Thai, for beer and good food. Do give it a try!

Not Your Typical Tourist

A passionate advocate for independent and solo travel, I traded life in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for the vibrant streets of Bangkok, Thailand. This shift is all thanks to a "chance encounter" in 2009 that led to marriage with my Thai husband. I currently split my time between Bangkok (my main base) and Kuala Lumpur for family—documenting the unique blend of a Malaysian life lived abroad.
