Finding Your Bloom in Bangkok: A Foreigner’s Guide to Stress-Free Flower Delivery

Mirror mirror who’s the prettiest of them all

Navigating Bangkok’s vibrant scene as a foreigner can sometimes feel like a treasure hunt, especially when you need specific services. In the advertising world, “foreigner-friendly” often just means a boosted ad, not necessarily superior English communication. So, when I needed to send a “modern-whimsical” flower arrangement, I went on a real search.

Flower in Hand by P.

My quest began with “flower delivery Siam Amazing Park,” the destination. While a few florists popped up, I wanted a more hands-on approach. I then shifted to a map search around my area, systematically clicking on florists. That’s how I found Flower in Hand by P., conveniently located in the Chatuchak area, opposite the Channel 7 building and about an 800-meter / 10-minute walk from the Department of Land Transport in Chatuchak – perfect, as I had a driving license renewal appointment anyway!

Beyond convenience, I discovered they are a sustainable florist business. They actively reuse materials (like upcycling wrapping paper from flower waste), choose compostable materials such as rope and biodegradable tape, support local craftsmanship, providing alternate wrapping like wrapping or tote bag, and even have their own sustainable, pesticide/chemical-free flower farms. This commitment to eco-friendly practices was a wonderful bonus!

Seamless Service from Inquiry to Delivery

Their LINE Official Account, @flowerinhandbyp, featured a comprehensive catalog, making online ordering easy. However, I preferred to see the options, especially the vase designs and sizes, in person.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by friendly staff who spoke enough English to assist me. I explained the arrangement was for a small restaurant opening for a close friend – and that’s กุ๊กเก๋ ข้าวมันไก่สวนสยาม, who serves awesome chicken rice in the Siam Amazing Park area (a little free publicity for my friend!). The staff smartly recommended the vase option for a vertical look. They clarified that both their bouquet and vase arrangements are placed in paper bag packaging. For store openings, they advised that the vase option would be much more visible and occupy less space than a traditional bouquet. They even explained their packaging design involves adding paper inside the bag to elevate the flowers without obscuring them – incredibly practical advice!

The staff quickly checked the delivery fee to the Siam Amazing Park vicinity (271 baht), confirming it would take approximately 40 minutes according to Google Maps. I requested dispatch around 11 AM for a pre-noon arrival. I filled out a card with my message and the booking sheet with name, and phone number of both the sender and recipient. When asked for my preference, I chose a “colorful” tone for the new store opening – a vibrant and fitting choice for such an occasion!

Updates and Reliability

Three days later, on the delivery date, their communication was excellent via their LINE Official Account. I received a photo of the completed arrangement together with updates when the messenger picked it up at 11:00AM, and another photo upon successful delivery at 11:56AM. The entire process, including English communication, was seamless.

The total cost was 2,300 baht for the small flower arrangement (in a vase) plus the 271 baht delivery fee. Payment with a credit card incurs an additional 3% fee, so I opted for a Prompt Pay transfer. Absolutely worth it and highly recommended!

Pricing Snapshot:

  • Vase Arrangements: Small (2,300 baht), Medium (3,400 baht), Large (4,500 baht)
  • Flower Bouquets: 1,800 – 4,500 baht
  • Specialty Bouquets:
    • With fabric wrapping: 2,000 – 3,000 baht (oh-so-pretty!)
    • With fabric tote bag: 3,000 – 4,200 baht
  • They also offer unique options like bouquets with frames and upcycled dried flower frames.

More Than Just Flowers: A Creative Hub!

A bonus: Flower in Hand by P. also boasts a charming cafe called Daisy Cafe and Bakehouse on the 2nd floor, which was bustling with patrons during my visit. If you’re in the neighborhood, it’s definitely worth checking out for a coffee or a quick bite!

Beyond flowers and coffee, they also host creative workshops for adults and kids, such as dried flower mobiles, dried flower frames, and even painting flower vases. It’s a wonderful spot for a dose of inspiration.

Not Your Typical Tourist

A passionate advocate for independent and solo travel, I traded life in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for the vibrant streets of Bangkok, Thailand. This shift is all thanks to a "chance encounter" in 2009 that led to marriage with my Thai husband. I currently split my time between Bangkok (my main base) and Kuala Lumpur for family—documenting the unique blend of a Malaysian life lived abroad.
