Adarsh Indian Restaurant: Is the “Affordable Indian Buffet” Hype Real?

Adarsh Indian Restaurant has been gaining serious traction lately for its budget-friendly, all-you-can-eat spread. The promise of an affordable buffet is a hook that works anywhere, but in Bangkok, it seems to work triple the magic.
When my husband suggested we try it, my first thought was that Indian cuisine might be a tad heavy for a buffet—especially since Adarsh uses an “order-from-the-menu” style rather than a self-service line. However, the portions are small enough that you can sample quite a variety without hitting a wall too early.
While their website claims “fine dining,” don’t expect white tablecloths. This is hearty, street-food style dining at its core.
The Buffet Tiers (Pricing Update)

If you’ve seen older videos mentioning a 199 THB option, take note: that has been cancelled. As of now, they offer two tiers:
- 299 THB: 44 menu items.
- 399 THB: 80 menu items.

We opted for the 399 THB option to get the full experience. You simply tick your choices on an order sheet and hand it to the staff.
The Food: Hits and Misses

At this price point, the meal is decent, but manage your expectations regarding the ingredients.
- The Hits: My personal favorite was the Tandoori Chicken (note: this is not included in the 299 THB tier). The Pani Puri was also a winner—the aloo (potato) filling was beautifully curried.
- The Misses: I would recommend skipping the fish; the quality was subpar. The Butter Chicken also strayed quite far from the traditional recipe, and the Jeera Rice was a bit too butter-heavy for my liking.
The “Lassi” Strategy: Because of the Bangkok heat, we ended up ordering six glasses of Mango Lassi. If ordered à la carte, that would have cost us 360 THB alone—so the buffet definitely paid for itself right there!
Know Before You Go

- Time Limit: 90 minutes.
- Waste Policy: There is a “charge per dish” for leftovers, though I noticed the staff were quite lenient with a neighboring table that couldn’t finish their spread.
- Service: Brisk and friendly. They handle a high volume of delivery orders, but the dine-in experience was still attentive.
Location & Logistics
Adarsh has two branches. We visited the Ramkhamhaeng branch, though the Ratchadapisek one is technically closer to home.
1. Ramkhamhaeng Branch (Our Choice)
- Location: Next to the Honda Center, The Ram Villa Project.
- How to get there: Take the Yellow Line to Bang Kapi Station. Walk through The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi to the The Mall Bangkapi Pier. From there, it’s a 700-meter (10-minute) walk to the restaurant.
2. Ratchadapisek Branch
- Location: Near MRT Huai Khwang (Exit 1).
- Note: It’s about a 1km+ walk from the station, so a short winwin (motorbike taxi) might be a better call.
