CNY Special: Isaan Soul Food at Cafe Chilli, QSNCC

If you’ve ever been to the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) during a major event, you know the struggle of finding a table. This past weekend, we got lucky—the center was pleasantly quiet, and we stumbled upon a massive deal at Cafe Chilli.

We took full advantage of their Chinese New Year Special (50% off select highlight menus) and enjoyed a full “Isaan Soul Food” feast for under 1,000 THB!

The Highlight Dishes:

  • Fried Sea Bass 🐟
    • Regular: 690.- → Now only 345.-!
    • Massive portion, perfectly crispy, and ideal for sharing.
  • Sakon Nakhon Phon Yang Kham Grilled Beef 🥩
    • Regular: 490.- → Now only 245.-!
    • Authentic, premium beef grilled to perfection. It’s served with a signature (and super spicy!) Jaew dipping sauce that packs a punch.
  • Som Tum Pu Pla Ra 🦀
    • Price: 115.-
    • The classic combo of fermented fish sauce (pla ra) and salted crab (pu) for that authentic Isaan funk.

While the promotion is aimed at families and CNY gatherings, it made for the perfect, quiet date night for just the two of us.

A passionate advocate for independent and solo travel, I traded life in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for the vibrant streets of Bangkok, Thailand. This shift is all thanks to a "chance encounter" in 2009 that led to marriage with my Thai husband. I currently split my time between Bangkok (my main base) and Kuala Lumpur for family—documenting the unique blend of a Malaysian life lived abroad.
