The Cooking Crab for A Satisfying Cajun Seafood Boil Feast
The Cooking Crab (yes, it’s a restaurant name) describe themselves as American (New), Asian Fusion, Cajun/Creole and Thai cuisine on their Facebook page. Sounds confusing, no? I thought it is simply American Cajun-boiling style of cooking, which seemed to cook up a storm in the Kingdom. Read my dining experience at Holy Shrimp, Train Night Market Ratchada here.
The Cooking Place is new in our neighborhood, and it’s a restaurant that I wanted to try for a while. So, we took advantage of their recent Ensogo promotion. It is available in 2 denominations: 249 baht for 500 baht value, or 555 baht for 1,000 baht value. What a bargain !
With our 555 baht cash voucher, we ordered a set of Combo #3, and topped up a bit to include drinks and a steamed rice. Combo #3 includes blue crab, prawn, mussel, clam, squid, sausages, potatoes and corns. As spicy is not mom’s thing, I ordered All Abroad flavor, mild-spicy level. Need not to say, I didn’t taste the heat at all … but it suits mom’s perfectly.
I applaud The Cooking Crab for a superb satisfying meal. Introducing new food to mom is always a gamble: phew, she enjoyed her meal! Mom likes the food, said they are very generous in their portion, and also thumbs up for ticking off both quantity and quality! She said that not only that the prawns were a lot and big in size, but most importantly, fresh. She also enjoyed her first Cajun seafood boil experience, eating sans-utensils.
The last I checked, they are still running their Ensogo promotion here. Grab it while it lasts!
Update Nov 2016:
We (finally) went back to The Cooking Crab, and it was still an enjoyable meal. Fresh seafood, decent price still maintained six months after our first visit, two thumbs up!
