I (Finally) Had My Texas Chicken

Texas Chicken .. oh Texas Chicken .. launched in Malaysia in 2013, but I never get a chance to it. So, I was pleasantly surprise, seeing it in Thailand, and found out that it finally reached the Land of Smiles in late 2015. 

Scratching our head for dinner place one day, bf gamely agreed with my suggestion to try Texas Chicken at Siamkit Building, at Siam Square. Hip hip hooray!

Walking in, the restaurant was crowded on a Friday evening – always a good sign, no?

Thank goodness for English menu .. one side in Thai, the other side in English.

We ordered 3-piece chicken set (129 baht), which includes 1 piece of honey-butter biscuit, 1 regular fries and 1 (bottomless) regular soft drink.

The staff kindly allowed us to mix spicy and original in one order … we can even specify the part of chicken accordingly. We were served 2 drumsticks and 1 breast, thumbs up to Texas Chicken! I like it that the chickens are in a ‘proper‘ size, unlike KFC shrinking-year-on-year chicken size.

Taste-wise, I like Texas Chicken’s spicy chicken. In my humble opinion, KFC still has the best original chicken.

Texas Chicken’s honey-butter biscuit is really, really gooooood. Why is this named as a biscuit anyway? I dont’t mind coming back to Texas Chicken just for this little dah-ling. They do sell it on ala carte basis: 19 baht (1 piece), 35 baht (2 pieces) and 89 baht (6 pieces).

We He also ordered their Kee Mao Tender Wrap, which is a Spicy Thai kind of flavour. I can be not that adventurous sometimes. It was just okay to me, serving-size a bit on the small size.

Will I come back to Texas Chicken? Well … maybe … one of those days when we are out of food idea, and for the honey-butter biscuits.
