Introducing My Fav Bakery, Pattiserie Rui Artisanal

I love Patisserie Rui’s cakes to pieces. Timeout KL’s article here says that “they take after the concept of Japanese cakes – light and delicate in design, taste and texture.” Perfect descriptions of Pattiserie Rui’s goodies.

Their cakes are unassuming. You know how Japanese manage to perfect minimalism? That’s how I feel about Pattiserie Rui’s cakes. Simplicity at its best.

Most importantly, their quality is maintained even after all these years. They have been around since 2007, even though they are still under the radar. I will probably attribute that to their one and only location at Mont Kiara Meridin. Not sure whether they have garnered more attraction with their second branch at Jaya 33.

As for me, nothing is too off the beaten track. Nothing but the best, for my family. I bought most of my family birthday cakes from Pattiserie Rui, including the recent tiramisu cake for my beloved younger brother.

Pretty, isn't it?

Pattiserie Rui’s darling size cake (10cm/4 inch) from their cake display counter, is perfect for that special occasion. I like it that it is so dainty; perfect after a heavy meal. The price varies, depending on flavor. I paid RM 25 for the cute tiramisu-penguin cake, a cake as ‘adorable’ as my younger brother.

Or, you may contact them for custom-made cakes. My family ordered one 4 years ago, and the brief was a Libra zodiac sign design. Not exactly the prettiest looking cake, but the strawberry shortcake was divine!

Pssst .. I also adore their fruit swiss roll cake tooat RM 38 each.

Service-wise, not exactly the warmest reception. Not that they are snobbish or anything, but somehow they are not as friendly as I wish. But do not be put off … it does the job lah.

If I am not wrong, cash payment only at Pattiserie Rui at Mony Kiara Meridin.

Travel opens up a whole new world, which is cliche but true. I am a strong advocate for independent and solo travel. I was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia but now live in Bangkok, Thailand, resulted from a chance encounter in 2009 with my why-are-you-Thai bf. I am now split between two countries. One country for my bf, another for the family, for the occasional weekend together.
